DEFINITION

Recount is a genre of text which is told about the writer’s past experience.

PENGERTIAN

Recount adalah salah satu jenis teks yang menceritakan tentang pengalaman penulis di masa lalu.

LANGUAGE FEATURES

1.      The use of nouns and pronouns.

Example : My, I, we, etc.

2.      The use of action verbs.

Example : had, went, stayed, started, etc.

3.      The use of past tenses.

Example : We went to Korea using tour agent of my uncle.

4.      The use of time conjunctions.

Example : and, the next, then.

5.      The use of adverbs and adverbs of phrases.

Example : to South Korea, a week ago, cheerfully.

6.      Adjectives.

Example : traditional, handsome, beautiful, lucky.

CIRI-CIRI

1.      Penggunaan kata benda dan kata ganti.

MY SPECIAL JOURNEY TO SOUTH KOREA

My family and I had a special journey to South Korea a week ago. We went to Korea using tour agent of my uncle. We had four days three nights there.

We stayed at the hotel because we arrived there at night. We started our journey in the morning cheerfully. The first tourist destination that we visited was Gyoungbok Palace. We saw many traditional activities there. We did not forget to take a picture too.

In the second day, my uncle asked my brother and I to follow him. I really surprised and happy. We went to SM Entertainment building. My uncle knew that my brother and I love K-Pop so much. I met many SM artists. I met members of EXO, SNSD, Super Junior, Shinee, Red Velvet, f(x) and NCT-U. They are really handsome and beautiful. My brother and I took a picture with them.

The next day we saw Jinhae Gunhanje Festival. We were lucky because we visited Korea at spring. Therefore we could see Sakura Flowers. The flowers were pink and pretty. After that, we visited Han River in the evening. The scenery of Han River was really beautiful. We saw many people walked around, rode bicycle even did sport. Then I saw a group of some girls in the park. I approached them. I knew who they are. They are members of Apink. Oh my god! I saw another K-Pop group! I asked them to take a picture and they agreed. I was really happy!

The last day in South Korea, My family and I went to Insa-dong for shopping. We saw many the traditional clothes of Korea named hanbok and other antique goods. My mother bought some merchandises there. Then we flied back to Indonesia in the afternoon.

Finally our journey to Korea was end. I was satisfied and thankful. I felt tired but it was paid by the happiness of the journey. I hope I can go to South Korea again next time.
